The importance of obedience did not end with the cross. Believers today are called to listen for the voice and leading of God and to be obedient when we hear His call. Here I am writing...what is God calling you to do?

God is bigger than our bills, our health diagnosis, our personal struggles, our grief or our shame. Whatever we are facing we must always know that GOD IS BIGGER. When things start to feel overwhelming, stop and lean into the Lord. He is bigger and He holds us in the palm of His hand.

Life is sometimes like that. Everything is going well then, there is a job loss, a diagnosis, a death, an eviction, etc. Life knocks us to our knees like running straight into a combine in the dark. In these life situations we need a real solution to our problems...Christ Jesus.

Where do you turn when you're discouraged? Afraid? Doubting? Hopeless? Is it a friend? A podcast? A motivational speaker? An uplifting...

Sometimes I’m a child who doesn’t understand. Sometimes there are things going on in my world, in my city, in my house, that make no sense to me. And left to my own devices, I’ll create a story that makes sense

Through this entire experience, God opened my eyes to the power of obedience, community, and long-term discipleship. From training YWAM leaders, delivering Bibles, and working with the amazing staff of Green Valley and Barnack schools, to sharing stories and meals with the amazing hospitality of the people of Kaabong and Kamod, I felt the undeniable presence of Christ in each moment. The road was long—sometimes hard—but God’s faithfulness was evident in every detail.

Although God called Nehemiah to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem, he faced opposition. Nehemiah could have thrown up his hands, walked away and said, “This is too hard for me, find someone else.” Instead, he remained faithful to the call God had on his life even when the pressures surrounding him seemed insurmountable.

As I continued on my journey, eventually I came to the realization that I was making my faith walk about me. I wasted so much time pitying myself and seeking out “spirit-filled” experiences that were perfectly catered to me. No wonder I struggled to feel His presence, I had made my worship about myself. I was spending time with God as a consumer, not a son.

A reflection onVBS...Seventy children found themselves at the foot of the cross surrendering their lives to Him, asking Jesus to come into their hearts. 

For those of us intent on laying our lives on the altar, we might have this grand idea that we’re willing to lay our lives down and be obedient to Christ up to the point of martyring…or maybe moving to a foreign country…or maybe doing jail time. But if we’re honest, maybe it looks a little bit more like up to the point of minor inconveniences, like changing cloth diapers. 

The world will tell you you must do more, be more, accumulate more. The world does not matter. God does.

If hundreds of new believers poured into our church doors, would they be received by a body of believers unified in mission, in purpose, and in truth? It seems like we have work to do. Each one of us must make a choice to be body builders.

When we believe in God, we are kept in the palm of God’s very hand and nothing and no one can take that security and protection from us.

Instead of allowing these feelings to turn into doubt, we need to take our thoughts captive and fix our eyes on Jesus, knowing that the pain we feel now cannot compare to the joy that is coming.

That was not cause for frustration; that was cause for celebration!

The necklace itself held no power but it became symbolic to me of the power of Christ. 

After a few bumps into the walls, she rounded the corner and parked the cart exactly where it belonged.

There is something about living in this harsh land that tugs at my soul.

God is so smart. He closed doors, one after the other, to allow that house sale to fall through.
