Be Still

“And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful”

Colossians 4:4

How often are you still? Not just physically not moving…STILL?

Still...deep silence and calm; stillness.

The other day I was running around the house checking item after item off of my to do list when I happened to look out the window. In the rows of trees I saw a pheasant sitting under a tree. Just sitting. Doing nothing. It was absolutely stunning. A pause came in my day as I sat and watched the bird. Peace and calm came into my heart.

How often do we measure our worth by what we accomplish in a day, a week, a month? How many times do we base our value on our productivity? And yet, we must consider the pheasant. There is infinite value in something or someone that gives the gift of peace to another.

Today, let us take time to pause, give thanks, and be STILL.
